Crappie Caught Using Wiggle Rigs

Many crappie caught using wiggle rigs are in the slab size. Not only are crappie slab being caught with the wiggle rigs; Bass, Bream, Walleye, Pike, Trout, Catfish, and even deep sea fish are drawn to the unique lure or live bait movement created by the patented Spectastic high tech fishing line.

In this article, I am going to explain the Wiggle Rig and show you the difference Between the Wiggle Rig and the Drop Shot.

crappie caught using wiggle rigBasic Fishing Equipment:

Bait: Assorted Straight tail worms, minnows, crawdads, Flukes
Weight: Either a tube weight or Bell Sinker
Swivel: I like the Pineapple Swivel
Hook: This can be the small hook that I have used in the picture or a 3/0 or 4/0
Rod: You can use either the Bait Caster or the Spinning Rod 6 1/2 or 7 foot

Wiggle Rig Assembly:

Ok, let's put this together.

First tie your hook on the main line about 4 to 6 inches above the Pineapple swivel or barrel swivel now attached it to the swivel.

Now add the Spectastic (Bungee Cord) to the swivel and to the wire and weight.

You're probably asking why I said to use straight tail worms. We have found that if you try the curly tails you will not get the same action out of your bait. When was the last time you saw a night crawler with a curly tail?

I know you are thinking the wiggle rig and the drop shot look the same, but the big difference is a Drop Shot is fished vertical. If you look at the picture, I have the Wiggle Rig at an Angle.

Casting Technique:

What you want to do is cast past your target and catch the bottom where the Spectastic (Bungee Cord) gets a load up on it allowing the bait to be over lets say the Bass or Crappie bed.

You do not want to pull it to hard just load up the bungee cord so all you have to do is wiggle the tip of the rod and the bait comes to life.

Some of you are saying that hook is too small and I am here to tell you it is not too small. It has caught up to an eight pound bass on it.

Where To Use Wiggle Rig:

This Rig is mainly what I would use in the spring when the fish are shallow, or on the beds. I have had guys from a bunch of lakes look at the action and tell me "That Aint Right". They are seeing something that has never been seen before and all of us Pros have been  using it and not talking about it.

Practice Makes Perfect:

I recommend you practice with the Wiggle Rig in the pool or bath tub because if you have lakes like in the Mid-South, they never clear up so I have to know what that Wiggle Rig is doing at all times. I PRACTICE before going to the lake and throwing it.

I can promise you if you will take it and practice with it and hit the lakes this spring; you will have a great time catching your favorite fish. It will blow your mind when no one else is catching fish. You can walk up with a Wiggle rig and tear them up. The action in the video will make you want to try this out for your self.

Like I mentioned at the beginning of the article, it has been tested for Bass, Crappie, Bream, Walleye,
Pike, Trout, Catfish and even deep sea fish.

Something that works so good on so many fish you can't go wrong. Give it a try and I mean a honest try. Don't go throw it once and say, Oh it does not work and throw it in the bottom of your tackle box.

You will see what I am talking about....try a night crawler. We all know if you throw a night crawler in the water, he will wiggle for a few seconds and if a pan fish does not eat him, he will sink to the bottom and stop wiggling.

If you put him on your Wiggle Rig, you can keep him dancing under water and it will up your chances of taking home some fish for that fish fry. Good Luck!

Keep the Hooks Wet!
