Fishing Apparel - Who Has A Guaranteed Waterproof Rainsuit?
Spring Time = Spring Rain = Stay Dry
That's right stay dry, and I have found a waterproof outfit that will do just that.
Everyone has heard of Gore-Tex and Bass Pro has an waterproof outfit called Pro Qualifier Gore-Tex that
consists of a Parka and Rain Bibs or a Parka and Rain Pants.
If you are fishing in a very cold area, you may want to purchase the additional Bass Pro Shops Pro
Qualifier Zip-In Jacket for Men.
It is designed for the Pro Qualifier Parkas or
Jacket.
Each item that makes up the waterproof outfit is sold separately for you to customize the outfit as needed for
your cold weather fishing trips.
This outfit is so great that I do not leave home without
it, almost sounds like a credit card commercial, but I got
my suit for the last Tournament back in October 2008 and have wore it three times since and it has paid for itself
already.
Gore-Tex Guarantee is to keep you dry, and I can say, without skipping a beat, no outside liquid gets on
the inside.
Even when racing down the lake in a rain storm, the seat that you are sitting in will be soaked, but
not you. The outfit is totally waterproof, and you can put in the clothes washer and dryer if it gets
dirty.
Now that I have covered the rain, let me get into the cold wind. Here again, I have found this outfit to keep me
nice and warm.
I finished out this winter fishing in the Pro Qualifier Gore-Tex Outerwear and I will swear by It.
Let me tell you, I am the first to yell out that I am cold, but not in this outfit. I am the
last to come in as long as I have this outfit on.
Another nice thing about this outfit is you can add clothing under the Parka and Rain Bibs and still
be able to move around comfortably.
Just remember, when mother nature calls, all the stuff that must be removed.
The Parka's features are:
- Adjustable hood with extended rain visor, so a ball cap or watch cap can be worn under the hood.
- Heavy tear resistant fabric
- 2 front chest pockets with waterproof zippers for camera, phone, wallet.
- Adjustable VELCRO Cuffs
- 2 large cargo pockets with fleece-lined handwarmer pockets
The Rain Bibs' features are:
- Hip length waterproof leg zippers
- Articulated knees for better movement
- Reinforced Knees and ankles
- Elasticized waist and adjustable ankle cuffs
The pants I have not tried, but hearing from other fishing folks, the Rain Bibs are a lot better.
I have heard that the pants might get some rain in them when bending over or sitting in the bass seat; I prefer
the Rain Bibs.
Now comes the Price that I know makes everyone gun shy, but a small price to stay Warm and Dry. The Parkas
go for around $199.95 and the Rain Bibs are around $179.95.
Folks, got to tell you that I did not even flinch when I got mine.
Don't forget there is also a zip in jacket for the Pro Qualifier Parkas or Jacket.
I chose to save a few bucks and use a flannel jacket from home on the inside of my waterproof parkas instead of
purchasing the zip in jacket.
Running Your Boat At Extreme Speeds and Fishing In Extreme Cold Weather Conditions?
Bass Pro Shops also has the 100mph Gore-Tex Rain Parkas for Men that are running their boats at extreme
speeds and fishing in extreme cold weather conditions.
Down south, I have not got that cold yet. The Pro Qualifier Gore-Tex has provided me with everything
that I was looking for in a rain suit.
Why Did I Swap To The Pro Qualifier Fishing Outerwear?
After experiencing being out in a steady hard rain during the cold season in 2007 with me in Frogg Toggs, I
found myself soaked to the bone and could not stop shaking from the cold.
I can not recommend Frogg Toggs unless it is a mist or very light rain. They did not keep me dry.
In closing, I feel like the Bass Pro Qualifier Gore-Tex
Rain Outfits can handle most anything Mother Nature throws at you unless you are an angler who runs your boat at
top speeds and fishes in extreme cold weather conditions. Then you may be a candidate for the 100mph Gore-Tex Rain
Parkas and Bibs found at Bass Pro Shops .
Otherwise, the Bass Pro Qualifier Gore-Tex Rain Outfits will keep you dry and warm and most of all, comfortable
to fish all day.
